Smoking

posted 2 years ago

In elementary school, fifth grade to be exact, we were required to take D.A.R.E which stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education. I remember the police officer would say, “In middle or high school, a classmate at some point will ask you to try a cigarette.” I look back on my middle and high school years which was between 2001 - 2007, and no one ever asked me to try a cigarette. I am 20 years old, out of college and I still have never tried one. I have no desire to.

Also, there are commercials displayed on TV advertising the same message that someone at one point in your teen years will ask you to try a cigarette. I don’t know if that is true. It has never happened for me.

Has anyone ever asked you to try a cigarette?
