Is her reasoning wrong?
I contacted a local photography studio run by one woman only. I asked her if she is in need of an assistant and she said this to me, “I currently work on high end Canon equipment and require that of my assistants as well. I see that you use a high end Leica and I do not work with photographers that use Leica, Hasselblad or other foregin camera models. Maybe someone else could use you or start your own business. Sorry.” Do you think her reasoning is completely bad? No, no let me answer this for you. Yes, her reasoning is fucking shit! Why? Leica is the top, number 1 rated camera in all of Europe, America, & Canada. Most people cannot work with Leica because they go from $4,000 - $27,000. Same with Hasselblad. Her Canon only cost her $850 and since it’s been a few years, the price of her Canon has dropped to at least $400. My Leica is an older model (the one I got was made in 2006), but the price has gone up to $3,500+. I’m not saying that having an exspensive camera makes me the greatest either. I think she is personally just jealous that I was able to get a used Leica for a great price. Ask any professional photographer and they will honestly say that Leica blows Canon into the fucking water.
Another reason why her statement is wrong is because Canon is made in Japan and Leica is made in Germany. Hasselblad is in Germany too. None of these cameras are American made. ‘I do not work with people who use foreign cameras.’ HELLO! YOU USE A FOREGIN CAMERA, DUMBASS! For a professional photographer, you sure know a hell of a lot about cameras. NOT.
My god, jealous people piss me off. You won’t hire me because I have a better camera than you? Your loss, lady. Your fucking loss!
